Tata Motors has revealed the interior of the upcoming Aeris through a new teaser ahead of the compact sedan’s official debut on September 25, 2026. The cabin receives a substantial technology and design update, with several elements appearing similar to those introduced on the latest Tiago.
The Aeris is widely expected to replace or significantly reposition the Tigor in Tata’s compact-sedan portfolio. While the company has not yet released the complete specifications, variant list or prices, the teaser provides the clearest look so far at its dashboard, infotainment system, controls and cabin colour scheme.
Beige-and-grey cabin with a layered dashboard
The Tata Aeris gets a light beige-and-grey interior theme intended to make the cabin appear more spacious and upmarket. The dashboard uses a layered design with horizontally positioned air-conditioning vents and contrasting surface finishes.
A multifunction steering wheel sits ahead of a slim, floating-style digital driver display. The steering-wheel controls appear to provide access to infotainment and instrument functions.
The lighter cabin theme is accompanied by what appears to be leatherette upholstery on higher variants. Tata may offer different materials and colour combinations depending on the selected trim, although the complete variant-wise details will be confirmed at launch.
10.25-inch touchscreen and 360-degree camera
A free-standing 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system is one of the main interior highlights. The display shown in the teaser presents camera feeds from the front, rear and sides, confirming a 360-degree surround-view camera system.
The camera system is also expected to support video recording, allowing it to perform a dashcam-like function. This could become an important differentiator in the compact-sedan segment, where factory-fitted 360-degree cameras remain uncommon.
The infotainment system is expected to offer wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Connected-car technology and steering-mounted controls are also likely to be included on higher variants.
Physical climate controls and wireless charging
Tata has retained physical buttons for frequently used functions rather than moving every control to the touchscreen. The centre section includes controls for the hazard lights, air conditioning, XpressCool function and 360-degree camera.
A wireless smartphone charging pad is visible on the centre console. The cabin also appears to include cupholders, a conventional handbrake and a manual inside rear-view mirror.
The teaser shows a rotary drive selector in place of a traditional gear lever. The availability of this selector could depend on the powertrain and transmission chosen.
Other expected features include automatic climate control, cruise control, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, power-adjustable and folding outside mirrors, USB Type-C charging ports and rear air-conditioning vents. Tata has not yet confirmed which of these will be standard or restricted to higher variants.
Exterior receives substantial changes
Earlier teasers indicate that the Aeris will receive more than a simple bumper-and-grille update. The front is expected to feature slimmer LED headlamps, a dark trim element connecting the lighting units and a redesigned bumper with C-shaped detailing.
The familiar notchback-style roofline is likely to continue, but new alloy wheels, sharper body detailing and a revised rear design should give the sedan a more contemporary appearance.
Patent images and teasers indicate connected-style rear lighting, a redesigned boot and a number-plate position moved to the bumper. A small ducktail-style spoiler element may also be integrated into the tailgate.
Petrol, CNG and electric versions expected
The petrol-powered Aeris is expected to retain Tata’s 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated engine. In the outgoing Tigor, this engine produces approximately 86 PS and 113 Nm and is available with manual and AMT gearbox options.
A factory-fitted CNG version is also expected. Tata could continue offering an AMT option with the CNG powertrain, although final engine outputs and transmission combinations will be announced during the unveiling.
An electric Aeris is expected to join the range as the successor to the Tigor EV. Reports suggest that Tata could continue with battery options related to the existing electric sedan, but the company has not officially announced the Aeris EV’s battery capacity, range, motor output or charging specifications.
The electric model may receive subtle styling differences and EV-specific displays while sharing most of the redesigned interior.
Tata Aeris launch and expected rivals
Tata Motors is scheduled to reveal the Aeris on September 25. Prices, variants, complete features and powertrain specifications are expected to be announced at or around the debut.
In the compact-sedan market, the Aeris will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Honda Amaze. The expected electric version will occupy a less crowded segment and could continue Tata’s presence in the compact electric-sedan market.
The new interior suggests that Tata is attempting to move the Aeris beyond a conventional Tigor facelift. The larger touchscreen, surround-view camera, digital display and lighter cabin could help the sedan appeal to buyers seeking more technology without moving to a larger vehicle.
