# Tata Aeris Launched at INR 5.29 Lakh: Petrol and CNG Sedan Replaces Tigor

Tata Motors has launched the Aeris compact sedan in India with a starting price of **INR 5.29 lakh (ex-showroom)**. The new name replaces the Tigor in Tata's private-buyer sedan range. At launch, the Aeris is offered with petrol and factory-fitted CNG powertrains; Tata has not announced an Aeris EV price, battery, range or launch timetable.

## Tata Aeris prices and bookings

The introductory ex-showroom price starts at INR 5.29 lakh for the petrol Smart manual. Reported petrol manual prices rise through Pure (INR 6.14 lakh), Pure Plus (INR 6.74 lakh), Creative (INR 7.49 lakh) and Accomplished (INR 8.19 lakh). The corresponding CNG manual variants start at INR 6.29 lakh and reach INR 9.19 lakh. Prices for the automatic variants were not available in the initial price list. Bookings have opened through Tata dealerships and online. Buyers should confirm the final variant price and delivery date with a dealer.

## Petrol and CNG engines

The Aeris uses a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder petrol engine producing about 85 bhp and 113 Nm. The twin-cylinder iCNG version makes about 75 bhp and 96 Nm while running on CNG. Both powertrains are offered with five-speed manual and automated manual (AMT) transmission options. Tata's twin-cylinder CNG layout leaves usable luggage room compared with a conventional single-cylinder installation.

## New design and cabin equipment

The Aeris retains the compact sedan's notchback shape while introducing slimmer lighting, a revised front bumper, new wheel designs and updated rear styling. Inside, the refreshed dashboard features a 10.25-inch touchscreen, digital driver display and a lighter cabin colour scheme. Depending on variant, equipment includes rear AC vents, a wireless phone charger, a 360-degree camera and a camera-based recording function. The automatic version has a rotary drive selector. Check the variant sheet before assuming a feature is standard.

## What about the Tata Aeris EV?

The launch announcement and initial price list cover the petrol and CNG Aeris. An electric successor to the Tigor EV has been discussed in advance of the launch, but **no Aeris EV battery size, certified range, charging time or price is confirmed in this announcement**. EV buyers should wait for a separate Tata Motors specification and price release rather than treating forecasts as official figures.

The Aeris enters the sub-four-metre sedan market alongside the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura and Honda Amaze. Its lower starting price and choice of petrol or CNG give shoppers another option, while a future electric version remains to be detailed.
