A Bengaluru-based power electronics and electric mobility company has struck an exclusive arrangement with a Taiwanese manufacturer. Under the deal, Solterra Technologies will be the only firm selling Sinpro Electronics' electric vehicle powertrain parts to Indian customers. The company has also launched a fresh R&D office in Bengaluru.
What the Deal Covers
Indian vehicle makers and mobility firms will get Sinpro's EV motors, motor controllers and DC-DC converters only through Solterra. Buyers also receive engineering support backed by Solterra's presence in the local market.
Sinpro has been in the power electronics business since 1995. The Taiwan firm builds motors, controllers, converters and charging technology, serving customers at home and overseas. The two companies say they will combine Sinpro's global experience with Solterra's grasp of India's mobility sector to serve a wide set of vehicle applications.
Inside the Bengaluru Facility
The new centre will take up product development, testing, engineering work and adapting imported technology to Indian conditions. It will double as a shared space where engineers from both firms work side by side on powertrain and power electronics projects.
Solterra says the investment reflects its plan to deepen technical strength within India and work closely with local manufacturers as the country's EV sector grows fast.

Sagar Bose, Chief Technology Officer at Solterra, said India's EV industry has reached a stage where technology, performance and engineering skill will shape the next generation of mobility. He noted that the tie-up adds proven powertrain solutions to the company's portfolio and that the new office will sharpen its ability to build for India.
Bill Su, who leads the EV powertrain business at Sinpro, called India one of the world's most active electric mobility markets. He said the exclusive link puts his firm's technology within easy reach of Indian makers, with Solterra acting as a reliable local partner for future growth.
Solterra's Existing Work
Founded in June 2022, Solterra builds IP67-rated chargers for two-, three- and four-wheelers. Its range also includes power modules, EV controllers and communication devices. Beyond hardware, the firm provides power electronics solutions, deep-tech consultancy and design services to automotive, industrial, semiconductor and advanced materials clients.

With the pact in force and the R&D centre up and running, attention now shifts to joint engineering work — adapting these components for vehicles made in India.
