Kia India has rolled out a long-term battery warranty for the Carens Clavis EV. First private owners of the electric MPV now get high-voltage battery cover for 15 years with no kilometre limit.
Who Gets the New Cover
The extended warranty is meant only for the first private owner of the vehicle. Commercial users, fleet operators and people who buy the car second-hand are not part of this scheme.
These buyers stay on the standard high-voltage battery warranty, which runs for eight years or 1,60,000 kilometres, whichever ends first.
Option for Earlier Buyers
Private customers who already own a Carens Clavis EV can move to the new plan. They can shift from the factory warranty of eight years or 1,60,000 km to the 15-year unlimited-kilometre cover.
This upgrade comes with a one-time administrative charge of ₹3,400. Kia has clarified that the upgrade depends on a vehicle evaluation and the company's terms and conditions.

Kia India stated that the new scheme will run alongside its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme.
Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Kia India, said the company's aim is to make electric mobility accessible, dependable and rewarding for customers. He noted that the warranty shows Kia's trust in the quality and durability of its battery technology.
