If a quotation uses battery subscription or Battery-as-a-Service pricing, check the recurring payment, minimum usage commitment, contract duration and cancellation terms. A smaller initial payment can be attractive, but the right comparison is the total cost over your intended ownership period.

For running costs, use your own electricity tariff and daily distance. Calculate charging expenditure from electricity drawn at the socket rather than relying only on the battery's advertised capacity. Petrol savings will depend on the scooter being replaced, its actual fuel economy and local fuel prices.

## Range and charging deserve a personal check

Choose a range margin for diversions, a pillion passenger and days when charging is inconvenient. Advertised range and the distance you can comfortably cover on your usual route may differ.

Before paying a booking amount, confirm that your parking space has a suitable charging arrangement. Apartment residents should check access and permissions with their building management. Buyers considering removable batteries should assess the lifting weight and the convenience of carrying them to a charging point.
